Ingredients
Melt the butter in a large pan over medium heat and add the sausage meat. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring thoroughly to break up the sausage meat into chunks. Add the onion and celery and continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until soft and golden, about 10 minutes. Add the apples and cook until just tender, about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and mix in the nuts, raisins, sage, lemon zest and cubed bread. Mix thoroughly, adding salt and pepper to taste. Stir in enough egg to bind.
