Our cattle, South Devons, Aberdeen Angus, English Longhorns and Beef Shorthorns, calve outside in Spring and autumn and suckle their natural mothers. They graze herb-rich meadow pasture and are fed on silage and hay in the winter – food which ruminents are designed to eat.
They are a BSE-free closed herd – this means that no breeding animals are bought in from the open market except for an occasional bull, but are bred within the herd.
We hang our beef on the farm in the traditional way, ensuring deeply flavoured, beautifully marbled, deliciously tender meat, just like beef used to taste.
